TALIBAN ZU-23 WITH CREW

Empress Miniatures produce some fantastic figures and their Modern Range would have be up there with the best. The figures I have just posted are from their fantastic Taliban Range and these guys, painted by Terry Moran, have mounted their ZU-23 into the back of a Toyota 'Technical', which will hopefully provide them with some serious firepower....well as long as they don't get spotted but the Coalition Air Cover. The club is planning to have our first crack 'Modern' wargaming soon but are still unsure of what rules to use...but I will keep you posted.

14th Regt. New York State Militia

Adventure Miniatures Australia has just released their first, of hopefully many, new blisters. The first two are for the 14th Regt. New York State Militia, which were designed by Ebob, in the UK. It has unfortunately taken Victor a number of months to find someone in Australia to put these fine lads in a   mould and ready for distribution. Both packs contain six figures and in the first, the command pack, you receive 1 x Officer, 2 x Standard Bearers, 1 x Drummer and 2 x NCO's (picture above). The second pack contains six figures of different poses. The packs will retail for $15.00 Aust each, which works at $2.50 per figure and are now available from Elite Miniatures Australia:

Imperial Expansion

Over the last two days since I arrived home I have been very busy casting figures, packing figures, unpacking figures and basing figures. These fine Roman Imperial lads I have just finished basing for a good friend, Jeff Smith, for his Basic Impetvs Army. The figures are a mix of Warlord Games, 1st Corps Miniatures and Aventine Miniatures and have all been painted by Leroy Simpson. Hopefully Jeff will bring them around this weekend for a game...fingers crossed.

The Imperial Roman Scorpion and cart are from the fantastic Warlord Games Imperial Roman range and the other two lads are 1st Corps figures from the Roman camp construction set. They are nice figures and add a couple of different characters to the stand.

The Easter Archers unit is a mix of Warlord Games (front row) and 1st Corps (back row). They seem to mix in very well and add a little more variety to the bas.

Warlord Games Praetorian Guard Cavalry..nasty little buggers

And finally the last unit is a base of Aventine Roman Auxiliary.

The Kelly Gang - Dead Man's Hand Down Under

The last gang, as promised, painted by Leroy Simpson is the great Ned Kelly Gang from DMH Down Under collection. I have played my fair share of DMH but not with the armoured Kelly gang on the table so it would be quite interesting to see how they go. Hopefully when I return home next week I might get a chance to line up a game.

Bushrangers Gang - Dead Man's Hand

Just before I went off again to beautiful PNG for another four weeks, I dropped round again to our resident wargaming 'Master' painter's house...Master Leroy Simpson....and snap a few images of his latest painting commissions. Last week was the great little ECW vignette and over the next couple of weeks I will be placing up images of the Down Under DMH Gangs he has been painting for a good friend here in Townsville. The first images this week are the 'Bushrangers Gang'. Again they are same the fantastic painting style that only Leroy can do and leaves many of us to shame.

A Surgeon at Work - ECW

This fantastic vignette of an ECW surgeon at work (Wargames Foundry) has been painted and based by Leroy Simpson. Leroy has a fantastic style in the way that he paints, which always seems to bring the figures alive, his choose of colours also seems to spot on every time. Leroy's basing is also exceptional especially when he is doing something for his own armies and this great vignette is no different. So please enjoy and be inspired.
